About

Playing Protection is a space to learn, play, and inspire us to protect each other and the planet.

The space has many elements, including a podcast and an artist/ research collaboration. Initially, PP will be based on Instagram and a website, with a plan to grow into events and exhibitions in the future. We intend to always be growing and evolving.

It’s evident that social justice and environmentalism are deeply intertwined and that addressing this interconnection is crucial for attaining justice for both people and the planet.

Our Values

Playfulness

It is integral for us that we bring a mindset of playfulness to everything we do. We strive to approach serious issues with a sense of joy, curiosity, and creativity. We aim to carry out our work without strict rules to encourage exploration, experimentation and fun.

Protection

Protection of people and the planet is the driving force behind this space. We appreciate that social and environmental injustice are interconnected, therefore to protect the planet we must work towards liberation for all. We support the efforts for land rights, sovereignty and economic and social justice for Indigenous people. We are working towards a world where all people and natural resources are free from exploitation.

Collaboration

We know that we need to work together to create positive change, so we rely on each other, seek feedback, and appreciate the magic that happens when we collaborate. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives to be involved.

Integrity

We are a volunteer run initiative that does not make profit. We aim to be fully transparent about all financial aspects, including all costs and earnings. We strive to make our intentions clear and to stick to them. We value honesty and taking responsibility for our actions.
